Mine was great except for Christmas Eve weather. Rain, rain & more rain. It took over two hours to make an 1 1/2 hr trip but it could have been worse. We made it to our distination and home in one piece so all is good.
I celebrated with my new family (my girls & grands) yesterday. We met at a local restaurant for lunch after church. All three girls made it, then we all went back to our Calhoun Co home to exchange gifts. Joe had the coffee maker ready when we came in and I turned the oven on and baked sugar cookies as they arrived. We had a great time and they all stayed as long as they could. The whole family was not there but still it was a good time.
As I type, we are in our Cherokee Co home and I'm killing time while Joe loads the truck with left over shelving to take to our Calhoun Co home. We have a project which I won't bore you with but I am excited to have someone to do home projects. Especially when it is someone that knows how to do stuff like that. I'm loving this little computer but I really must cut my fingernails to keep from hitting the wrong keys.
Now I'm looking forward to New Year's Day. Joe & I decided to cook blackeye peas, greens, cornbread, & BBQ and invite the girls and their families to come over and watch ball games with Pawpaw (Joe) on the big screen. I know some of them will be working but the idea went over well with them. New Year's Day is the only holiday that I don't do something with my siblings. I'm thinking in addition to the dinner foods of having some chips and dip stuff (football food) so if you have any easy ideas, I'd really love for you to share.
How was your Christmas?

Sounds great. Sorry about the rain. The New Years Day get together sounds like a great new tradition. They will love getting to watch the BIG TV.
We have no plans for that day or eve. Just getting through the wedding was all the steps I could take this holiday (o:
We had the Christmas Eve rain as well, resulting in a few damp presents. :)
Football food to me is rotel dip and/or sour cream & onion dip with Ruffles (MUST be Ruffles, not Golden Flake or other pretender.) Good thing I don't watch football, huh? :)
It sounds like you are adjusting well to being a married lady. That's wonderful.
Thanks for asking about my Christmas... you can read about it at my blog. :)
I always serve deviled eggs at my football parties. If you want my recipe, it's on my latest blog entry too.
If you have any Christmas goodies left over, set those out and you will not have to eat them in 2010!!!
Love you,
Bethy
Did you see the olive penguins I put on my blog Christmas Eve? They are cute as the dickens and delicious! We also like mini-smoked sausages wrapped with a 1/3 slice bacon, held with a toothpick, and sprinkled with a little brown sugar baked on a sheet pan until the bacon is done. Everyone loves them and they can be prepared ahead of time and baked at the last minute.
I hope that you have a wonderful New Year! I pray blessings over you and Joe in 2010.
Love you JC!
