When did you learn about blogging? I learned about blogs and blogging two years ago when my niece created a blog "Dust Bunny Hostage". Jen's blog is funny and witty and all the things people look for when blog reading. I would not put my blog in the same category but still I love reading blogs. So I'm just curious as to when you first learned about blogging and when did you start yours.
I can hardly believe it has been almost two weeks since I've done a post. There is plenty going on but just not enough time to post about it. Married life is more life changing than I thought it would be but in a very good way.
Joe & I are still in the getting to know you phase. Joe is a kidder, he likes to kid, he reminds me a lot of my brothers in that respect. However, I don't always get the humor. Well, most of the time, I don't get it which makes whatever it is even more funny to Joe. Sometimes, he just decides the explanation will take too long and just moves on to something else. Does your spouse find things funny that you just don't get??? I would give an example but I can't think of one.
We had a snow day not so long back. It was great. Enough snow to close the schools but not enough to keep me home. Have you ever had the sensation of being in a snow globe? The glittery kind not the snowy kind. The morning after the almost non-existent snow the wind was blowing the snow that had turned to ice flakes off the roof, deck and trees. It sparkled like glitter as it swirled in the breeze and caught sun rays before the weather got too warm and it started to melt. Joe & I stood at the kitchen window and enjoyed the show. I even cooked my Joe a good breakfast that morning. Very Norman Rockwell of me. HA!!! I can not imagine living where snow is normal. Imagine me tipping my hat and bowing to all of you who do live with snow as a normal thing.
Tomorrow, I go for more bone grafting on my right lower jaw bone. Bone grafting was done in four sites during the surgery in December. Three sites took but the one where the cyst was removed did not. The procedure will be done in the surgeon's office so I'm thankful I don't have to go back to the hospital. They will use cadaver bone again. I'm praying it will take this time. The surgeon said if it doesn't take this time around then they will have to take some of my bone from somewhere and do the procedure again. Apparently bone is like an organ, if it isn't your tissue, there is a chance of rejection. He said he could remove bone from my hip or just below the knee. The thought brought tears to my eyes. Please remember me in your prayers.
Oh, one other thing. Joe weighed. He has gained 10 pounds since the wedding. HA!!! Yep, peanut M & Ms and ice cream will do it to ya.
Also, the decision has been made, the great-grandson will call me Grandmama. It has also been decided that everyone in the family will go ahead and start calling me Grandmama so there will be no confusion when he gets here in mid-May. Joe has a great family!!! They asked me what I wanted to be called, I told them, there was NO debate. I was expecting DEBATE!! It was as if, none of them had ever considered calling a grandmother by grandmama or grandmother. OH WELL, our autistic granddaughter was told once that I was Grandmama and it stuck so if she has it so will the rest of them. The decision was made Saturday. Yesterday, Joe pointed at me and asked H. (autistic granddaughter we will call her H.) "Who is that." She didn't miss a beat with her reply of "Grandmama!!!" I couldn't help but smile.
O.K. so I realize I'm rambling. I will try to get to your site soon. Really, I will.

JC, I love this precious, informative post.
GRANDMAMMA....just precious..came close to bringing tears to my eyes.
Love you,
Bethy
good to hear from you (o:
hmmmm I think men just have a different kind of funny bone than we do. They don't get us and we don't get them (often anyway). They are more sarcastic.
Snow is beautiful...but I an tired of it on the ground
it is almost melted and suppose to snow again
I choose to be Grammy
half of the time I am, but I am also Grandma. That's OK... my mother was Grandma...but often kids just call you their own thing. My youngest boy called the two Grandmas NeNe. I have no idea why. That is what he could pronounce at the time. So they became Big NeNe and Little NeNe (you can guess why (o: well he also had 'Grape Grandma'
So you will have to teach Joe about eating healthy (o: How has your weight been? How nosy of me.
JC, I love that someone within your family... your grandaughter... named you Grandmama. LOVE IT!
Bryan's sense of humor leans toward picking on me (gently). Maybe teasing would be a better description. Whatever, I am used to it by now and most of the time he cracks me up.
I am praying the bone grafts takes this time. You have been through so much already. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.
Oh! And blogging! I learned about blogs from my friend Jerri. At the time that I began reading hers, I was so intimidated by the computer. SCARED of the thing. When I think of how I was then, I stand amazed that I am a blogger.
Love you SO much!
Jen
Grandmamma is a fine title. I'm sure you wear it with pride.
Best of luck to you for the surgery. I'll send soothing, healing thoughts your way.
Shalom JC. Just getting caught up with your surgery, snow, married life, etc. Wow, that's a lot for you.
Wishing you only the best and lots of shalom.
I totally found out about blogging by accident. I was doing some research on bulimia and ran across a "blog." Then I went to a few of the other linked blogs on that blog. After looking around for a few weeks, I decided to try it myself. The rest is history...or her-story, if you will. Ha! I crack myself up. :)
Good luck with the next procedure on your mouth. I am praying for you for a successful outcome.
I can't remember when I found out about blogging or how... probably about 2 years ago I would guess.
I have lived in CO 8 years... a few years ago we saw a Christmas play and when we left the theater the snow was lightly coming down and it looked liked diamonds. everything was so perfectly still, no wind, no nothing, but diamonds floating down and landing. It was gorgeous - i wanted to cry... i didn't want to move - i didn't want to displace the shimmering gorgeous snow. haven't seen anything like it again.
my dad's mom (german): when I was little she wanted me to call her Oma but I either couldn't remember that name or I didn't like it since her mother was "Oma" and was scary (okay, only because she didn't speak english!). Dad's mom always gave me cookies so I started saying "cookie-oma" and then eventually grandmama (I'd switch back and forth). Never heard anyone use grandmama until now with you! when I talk about her to my kids and mention cookie-oma they say what the heck? It sounded so natural to me... lol
I hope you are recovering & doing well since your procedure(& that everything takes).
I hope your procedure went well and that you are on the mend.
I wanted to let you know that I gave you the "Beautiful Blogger" award on my blog. You truly are a beautiful person, thank you for being there for me over the past year. Love ya, JC!
I've been AWOL for a long time so have enjoyed catching up with all your news. So sorry about the extra surgery and hoping it has gone well for you.
You sound so happy with your lovely husband and getting to know each other and families. Wonderful.
As for blogging I first heard/read the word on a weight loss site where I made a lot of friends through the chat forum, about ...Oh-My-Golly-Gosh ... it must be more than 10 years. Was blogging around then? I began blogging 3 or 4 years ago I think. Time goes by and it gets harder to remember such details.
Much of my computer knowledge has come from responding to e-mail bookings when running a backpacker hostel, 1999 on, visiting what used to be my W.L. lifeline http://www.slimmingforlife.com.au/
and on-line church, especially http://www.tacf.org/ The rest from wanting to write using a word processor and doing the church bulletin for a few years. So that's my story.
I'm sorry my name was not on the post
hey you old married lady... How are you!!!!!! Thanks for coming by... Life seems to be so hectic does it not!
My sweet DH told me about blogging almost three years ago now.. He knew that I was so lonely out here taking care of mom and dad. I got a rough start but after a couple of tries I got the hang.... I am sooooooooooo glad that I did.... Meeting wonderful gals such as you!
Have a great rest of the week and I promise to come by more often!
