SO MUCH TO REPORT

WHERE DO I BEGIN!

When last I posted, life was just rocking along. Joe with car fever and me with spring decorating fever. Neither of us doing anything in regard to our health. Well that was then and this is now.

Joe traded his 15 year old car for a 10 year old car. You would think it is brand new. Well the 15 year old one had over 250,000 miles on it and is now one of the grand kiddos car. Picture my brow creased with worry over the child being stranded but that really is his parents problem not mine. New 10 year old car has 124,000 miles on it so according to Joe "it is just getting broke in good". If you are an older southern gentleman you probably know what that means.

My decorating fever has cooled a bit but not before I spent over $300 on new linens for the other place, weekend retreat, Joe's place or whatever you want to call it. If you remember, I purchased a comforter set from Walmart. Well, I learned a valuable lesson. MEASURE before you buy linens. Did you know that all comforters are not the same size. It has been soo long (17 yrs) since I bought a comforter apparently things have changed. King does not mean a certain width anymore. Of course the depths of mattresses have changed in the last few years as well creating a need for wider comforters. The Walmart comforter was 102" wide. I needed one that is 108" wide. Well you don't find those at Walmart. Oh well, it was returned and I found that JC Penny sells comforters that are 110" wide. I will be doing an entire post relating to customer service regarding this whole issue so I'll leave it here for the time being. I also got a beautiful tablecloth that really brighten up the kitchen and more importantly, Joe loves it. I now have a new valance for the den windows and curtains to match the new JCP comforter set and new very deep pocket 400 thread count sheets.

Of course, my fever for decorating didn't end with the other place, it spread to our main place as well. This time the damage was minimal, just a new quilt from Target that matches my existing bed skirt, curtains and shams. The comforter I have is just too hot for summer. It was on sale plus I had an additional 20% off Target coupon.

By the way everything I purchased was on sale or I had a coupon of some sort. Couponing and saving money is a big ole pain and it is also addictive. I love my bedding even more knowing it was on sale with an additional so much off. Now I'm getting to another post so I'll stop here with my couponing tales.

Health wise. Joe & I watched a PBS special about brain health so Joe is now interested in feeding his brain healthy foods. YEAAAAAAAA

Now the big news. At the age of 56, I did something I would never have thought I would do. Want to know what it is? I'll save it for another post. Let's just say I have a need for leather.

The whole comforter thing is a real pain ! My discovery lesson was when we both a new extra thick mattress and none of our sheets fit the new depth, and we had to go searching a source that carried them. I complained for weeks that no one should be required to have a college degree to know how to buy simple home furnishings. It was funny to my husband !It seems they are making everything so darned complicated these days !

I'm not a southern gentleman...but my old car (the one that my husband drives) just hit 200,000k miles and is barely broken in. My car, with 80,000 miles is a babe in arms!

Ohhhhhhh you are so bad leaving us hanging!!!! I'm just in a tizzy thinking about you and all you have promised to share at a future date....leather and all sorts of things!

I love a bargain, too. And coupons...I carry them around for weeks, intending to use them, only to find out they are expired when I finally get around to visiting the store they are from.

Leather? Hmmm. I must have a dirty mind, cuz all I can think of are naughty things. :)

Oooh, the word verification is OLUTTLIC. That sounds naughty too!
